Home Economist is a prop hire company specialising in supply of practical kitchen appliances and peripherals both for Home Economists to prepare 'camera ready' food, and/or as working props for set dressing. Established in 1987 and based at Shepperton Studios (15 miles from the centre of London) we supply film and television productions. TV commercial production companies, photographers and exhibition organisers. We stock an extensive range of cookers, refrigerators, freezers, fryers, etc, both domestic and commercial, and also supply trestle tables and chairs, air conditioners and fans. Our newest aquisition is our custom-built mobile Food Product Workshop for use by Home Economists on locations, which can be selectively equipped with appliances required for a particular shoot. and on countless other commercial and food shoots for individual products. We are also approved suppliers of practical appliances to BBC and all national ITV production companies. Customers can collect appliances using appropriate transport or we can arrange for delivery and collection.
